Introduction to Seed Germination

Seed Germination refers to the beginning growth period of a seed. Germination can occur in many other things such as spores. Germination occurs after a period of dormancy, whereby metabolic processed such as respiration are severely suppressed. Some seeds can be germinated after thousands of years, whereas others need to be germinated within a matter of days to stop them from dieing.
Successful germination of a seed relies on 3 main factors: water, oxygen, and temperature. The specific conditions influence the speed, size, and success of growth.
