With 900,000 families across rural Britain today living in poverty, fewer job opportunities, lack of transport, rising costs of affordable housing and fragmenting local communities, countryside living can be far from its idyll.
Our agricultural heritage and links with the UK’s network of 20,000 rural churches puts Germinate: The Arthur Rank Centre in a unique position to work in partnership with people in villages and hamlets across the UK to tackle these and other challenges of countryside living from the grassroots, up.
But we cannot do this alone. As a small national charity, we receive no government funding and rely 100% on donations from our generous supporters to allow us to continue our vital work each year.
