The Rural Ministry Course is offered twice a year for those, lay or ordained, who are new to rural ministry.

Germinate: The Arthur Rank Centre is a highly respected training provider, offering a range of tailored and innovative courses to meet the evolving needs of the rural church. Drawing on many years of experience and extensive networks of skilled practitioners, we provide training opportunities for lay and ordained people engaging in mission and ministry in the countryside. Distinctive rural contexts require particular expertise and strategies and we are the recognised leader in equipping and resourcing the church in creative and credible ways.

Distinctive rural contexts require particular expertise and strategies and Germinate: The Arthur Rank Centre is the recognised leader in equipping and resourcing the church in creative and credible ways. The course includes sessions on:
- Rural context
- Mission and growth
- Working with children and young people in the countryside
The three day residential programme, employs a variety of approaches including practical sessions, group work and workshops led by practitioners. It is designed for lay and ordained ministers across the denominations who may be entering a rural appointment for the first time, or who may already be in rural ministry but feel the need for a ‘refresher’. it attracts those who are keen to examine the challenges and opportunities that this ministry offers.
Each course can accommodate up to 20 participants and early booking is advised.

All courses start with lunch at 1.00pm on the first day (Tuesday) and finish after lunch at 1.30pm on the final day (Thursday).
All courses take place at the King’s Park Conference Centre, Northampton, NN3 6LL
The fee for the course is £255 per person which includes a free subscription for one year to Country Way magazine. A non-refundable deposit of £75 is required at the time of booking.
